Anna Whyte
Scottish-born soprano, Anna Whyte,is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (2004). She has since studied at Trinity College of Music, completing a PGDip (2006) and more recently the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma, graduating with distinction. Whilst at TCM, Anna was a Montague Cleeve Scholar and was the recipient of the Contemporary Vocal Prize. She was a choral scholar at the Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Greenwich, where she was also a regular soloist. Anna studies with Alison Wells.
Operatic roles include Mme. Lidoine in Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites(TCM), Giannetta in Donizetti’s L'Elisir d'Amore (HGO), Mrs Hayes in Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah (HGO), Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (HGO), Cupid in John Blow’s Venus and Adonis (HGO) and Papagena in Mozart's The Magic Flute (HGO).
Anna is also an experienced ensemble singer and has worked with several professional groups including Cappella Nova and the Academy of Ancient Music. She has participated in masterclasses with Malcolm Martineau, Lynne Dawson, Michael Chance and Ian Partridge.
Anna has spent several years as a peripatetic music teacher in secondary schools in South East London.
